Psalm 44
1AL choirmaster. On "The lilies ...". Of the sons of Korah.
Maskil. Love song.
2Effonde my heart happy words,
I sing to the king my poem.
My tongue is the pen of a scribe.
3Tu are the fairest of the sons of men,
on your lips is common grace,
God has blessed you forever.
4Cingi, warrior, sword at your side,
in the splendor of your majesty you smile on your luck,
5avanza for truth and goodness and justice.
6The your right shows you wonders:
your sharp arrows
strike at the heart of the king's enemies;
peoples fall under you.
7The Your throne, O God, endures forever;
righteous scepter is the scepter of your kingdom.
8Ami justice and hate wickedness:
God, your God, has anointed
with oil of gladness above your equals.
9LE your robes are all myrrh, aloes and cassia,
the ivory palace you cheer the harps.
10Figlie of kings are among your loved ones
to your right stands the queen in gold of Ophir.
11Ascolta, O daughter, give ear,
forget your people and your father's house;
12al king desire your beauty.
He is your Lord, pay homage to him.
13Da Tyre come with gifts,
the richest of the people seek your favor.
14THE daughter of the king with splendor,
gems and cloth of gold is her dress.
15E to the king in embroideries;
virgins her companions you have conducted;
16guidate in joy and gladness
come together in the king's palace.
17Ai your fathers, your sons will succeed;
will make them princes throughout the land.
18Farò remember your name
for all generations,
and people will praise you for ever and ever.

COMMENT
on today What wonder! The psalm is today a veritable exaltation of Jesus Christ (you are the fairest among the sons of men): we see the psalmist celebrate in a profound way the figure of the Messiah outlined the basic features that the Gospel itself confirms. Let's see how he already knows that Jesus, God has given the scepter of power so that his kingdom would last forever, when we pray with the Creed we say very clearly that the Kingdom of Jesus will never end exactly as stated in this psalm, the psalmist says that when the kingdom lasts forever. The awards continue to highlight how the Messiah was chosen as the first fruits among men and there is also the prophetic announcement of the Magi, that is, those who went in search of the Lord's face and bring the gifts from their kingdoms.
But today this psalm is not only a clear prophetic praise for the Messiah, but also a praise to the Blessed Virgin Mary and the disciples who followed Jesus to the end as Mary Magdalene (Daughters of kings are among your loved ones to your right stands the queen in gold of Ophir.). So we can meditate today really is a prophetic psalm is able to predict the figure of Jesus Christ and that of Mary is also remembered as the name of Jesus will always be remembered and that people will praise him forever!
