What Is The Highest Triglyceride Level

Sirach - Twenty-third meeting

continues Friday with the appointment of Ben Sira, who arrived today in the twenty-third chapter focuses on some specific figures of sin

Sirach - Chapter 23

[1] O Lord, Father and Lord of my life,
not abandon the their will,
not let me fall because of them.
[2] Those who apply the whip to my thoughts,
my heart the discipline of wisdom?
Why are not spared my mistakes
and my sins go unpunished,
[3] because they do not multiply my mistakes
and do not increase the number of my sins,
I will not fall before my adversaries
and the enemy will not rejoice in my account.
[4] Lord, Father and God of my life,
not put myself at the mercy of shameless glances
[5] and away from me lust.
[6] not Sensuality and lust came over me;
want to forsake me not shameful.

[7] The children, listen to the education of the mouth,
the observer will not be lost.
[8] The sinner is a victim of his lips,
the slanderer and the superb, there are stumbling.
[9] Do not accustom your mouth to oaths,
not get used to designate the name of the saint.
[10] As a slave continually questioned
will not be without bruises,
so anyone who swears and always in the mouth God
not be free of sin.
[11] A man of many oaths is filled with iniquity;
the plague shall not depart from his house.
if it falls at fault, his sin is upon him;
if you do not take this into account, sins twice.
perjure If not warranted,
his house will be full of misfortunes.

[12] There is a way of speaking that can be compared to death;
is not in the descendants of Jacob.
From all pious men should be dismissed,
so you do not wallow in sin.
[13] Your mouth does not get used to coarse vulgarity,
in fact there is reason to pity them.
[14] Remember your father and your mother, when you sit among the majors,
never forget them in front of them,
of habit and do not be silly;
you might want to not be born
and curse the day you were born.
[15] A man accustomed to insulting speeches
not correct in all his life.
[16] Two species of crimes multiply sins, the third wrath:
[17] a burning passion like fire on
did not calm down until it is consumed;
a shameless man in his body
will not stop until the fire devour him;
for a fornicator all bread is tasty,
not tire until they die.
[18] The man unfaithful to his bed
says to himself, "Who sees me?
Darkness around me and the walls hide me;
no one sees me, what should I be afraid?
of my sins will not remember the Most High. "
[19] His fear is only the eyes of men;
not know that the eyes of the Lord
are ten thousand times brighter than the sun;
they see all the actions of men
and penetrate down to the most secret places.
[20] All things, before they were created, were known;
the same way even after the creation.
[21] This man will be punished in the streets of the city,
will be taken where they least expect.

[22] So the woman who leaves her husband,
heirs and has had a stranger.
[23] First, he disobeyed the laws of the Most High,
second has committed an injustice to her husband,
in third place is guilty of adultery
and introduced children in the house of a stranger.
[24] She will be dragged before the assembly
and will conduct an investigation over his children.
[25] His children will not have roots,
its branches do not bear fruit.
[26] He will leave his memory into a curse,
his disgrace will not be deleted.
[27] The survivors will
that nothing is better than the fear of the Lord,
nothing sweeter than observing his commandments.

COMMENT

There are different shapes of sin that are now being brought to our attention: the oaths, the mouth vulgar, impure sins and adultery. Firstly, the author turns to the Lord in a way that reminds us a lot to David, he entrusts himself to the Lord to escape from sin, to make sure that the enemy (which can be identified with the evil one) will not prevail. This is a cry that we must all do: we all, in fact, we are in the grip of sin and we all need God to deliver us from temptation, by increasingly strong lusts and desires that are impure and shameful perversion of fruit and libido out of control. All these things are an abomination to the Lord and those who commit it against him
But there are other things that go against the will of God: first, let's see how the author invites us not to use our mouth so vulgar and secondly, we see that you are asked to avoid oaths and take the name of God in vain. In these conditions, we see the antithesis of Jesus' discourse which has lingered on both oaths and vulgar use of the mouth:

" But I say: Do not swear at all: neither by heaven, for it is God's throne, nor by the earth, because it is the footstool of his feet, or by Jerusalem, for it is the city of the great king. Do not swear by your head, because you do not have the power to make one hair white or black. Let your speech be yes, yes, no, no more than this comes from evil "(Matthew 5: 34-37)

" Listen and understand! Not that which goeth into the mouth defiles a man, but what comes from the mouth defiles a man. "Then the disciples came to him:" You know that the Pharisees were shocked when they hear these words? ". And He said: "Every plant not planted by my heavenly Father will be uprooted. Leave them alone! They are blind leaders of the blind. And when the blind lead the blind, both shall fall into the ditch. "Then Peter said unto us this parable '. And he answered: "You are also still without understanding? Do not you understand that whatever enters the mouth passes into the stomach and goes into the sewer? But what comes out of the mouth come from the heart. And this defiles a man. From the heart In fact, come evil thoughts, murder, adultery, fornication, thefts, false witness, slander. These are the things which defile a man, but to eat with unwashed hands does not defile 's man " " (Matthew 15, 10-20).

So Jesus tells us not to swear and be careful what we do out of the mouth because that is what makes a man unclean. We must therefore take care to ensure that our language gets used in making vulgar words, foul language that can not only make us unclean themselves, but also and above all who listen to us, as children absorb the foul language adult unwary. Own children are the victims of this behavior and the blame falls on the adults and parents who use certain expressions and that rather than scold the children repeat that, they laugh about.
There are other sins that Ben Sira shows us today and are the most dangerous and devastating because it related to carnal temptations. In particular the reference to adultery is, in general there is a reference to those behaviors that fuel a passion burning like fire burning that did not calm down until it is consumed. That's why we stay away from sources of temptation: why enter into temptation, it deprives our forces and the fire that lights up, we can turn it only by falling into sin.
And those who commit sin, you can not hide before God: of course you can not hide from men, closing in your room or in his own bed, but it certainly can not hide from the gaze of God that penetrates everything. So, the man who thinks he's smart because hide his misdeeds to the men and he thinks that God will remember their sins is actually a fool because he does not know that before the divine tribunal would be judged on all our works because God knows everything. The same applies to the adulterous woman who presents with children born outside of the marital union: it too is a victim of his folly, because it had no fear of the Lord and did not respect His commandments.
A wise man, however, has fear of the Lord and bask in the commandments of the Lord!
